Dr. Bruce Damer is an Astrobiologist at UC Santa Cruz and the BIOTA Institute working on the question of the origin of life on Earth, and the extent of life in the universe. He has a long career in computing, helping to build some of the first user interfaces on personal computers in the 1980s, initiate ‘metaverse’ virtual worlds with avatars in the 90s, simulate and design space missions for NASA in the 2000s, and most recently taking up the question of how psychedelics can be catalysts for solutioning creativity in science, engineering, and leadership.
