Biography
P. D. Newman is an author, international lecturer, and independent researcher who has spent more than two decades immersed in the study and practice of alchemy, hermetism, ritual magic, and theurgy (ancient divine ritual). A prominent voice in esoteric studies, his groundbreaking research bridges the gap between traditional ritual symbolism and practical entheogenic pharmacology. He is an active member of both the Masonic Fraternity and the Society of Rosicrucians.
Newman achieved widespread recognition within the esoteric community with his bold debut book, Alchemically Stoned: The Psychedelic Secret of Freemasonry (2017). His research provides a radical reinterpretation of Masonic ritual, arguing that practical pharmacology—specifically the historical use of substances like DMT—lies concealed within the foundational root and allegories of ancient mystery schools and fraternal rites. This work was highly praised by leading fraternal historians for its scholarly execution and rigorous cross-referencing.
Expanding his focus across historical eras and cultures, Newman has published extensive material mapping out the hidden, cross-cultural history of visionary plants and ancient consciousness-expansion practices. He frequently lectures internationally and has published numerous articles in prominent esoteric journals, including The Scottish Rite Journal, Knights Templar Magazine, and Ad Lucem.
